Tote Bag I Am Magical

Cotton canvas with a message worth carrying. This tote is printed with the affirmation 'I am Magical' alongside imagery drawn from The Magician tarot card, a figure long associated with creativity, intention, and the power to bring ideas into being. It is the kind of bag that says something about the person holding it, without needing to say very much at all.

The feel and finish

The bag is made from cotton canvas, a fabric with a long history as a working material, originally sailcloth, built to hold weight and weather. Here it is put to quieter use: a sturdy, structured carry that softens with use and sits comfortably on the shoulder. At 200 g, it is light enough to fold into another bag and forget about until you need it.

Size and structure

It measures 42 cm tall, 39 cm across, and 13 cm deep, a proper gusset that gives it real volume, enough for a library run, a market trip, or a day's worth of things. The flat base means it stands on its own when set down.

The design

The Magician is the first numbered card of the Major Arcana, numbered one, and is traditionally read as a symbol of skill, will, and the capacity to shape one's circumstances. The figure stands with one hand raised and one pointing to the earth, a gesture that, in the Rider-Waite tradition, represents the channelling of higher intention into the material world. Paired with the words 'I am Magical', the print works as a quiet daily prompt rather than a statement piece: a reminder, carried close, of what you are capable of.

Carrying it

It works as an everyday tote, a book bag, or the bag-inside-a-bag that surfaces when you need it. The cotton handles sit comfortably over the shoulder for a short trip or in the hand for a longer one. It is the sort of thing that becomes a habit rather than a choice.

Care

Wash gently in cool water with a mild detergent. Do not wring. Dry flat or in the shade rather than in a tumble dryer. If you iron it, turn it inside out first and use a moderate se…
